  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup physalis fruit
  • 1 small orange or ½ large orange
  • 1 cup white wine
  • Assorted herbs: thyme, rosemary, oregano (to taste)


Start with the chicken marinade: put the cup of physalis, orange juice, and herbs in a blender and blend. Add this mixture to the chicken and allow it to marinate for 1 hour. After the first 30 minutes, turn the chicken upside down for it to marinate all around.

Preheat the oven to 350°F with upper and lower heat.

Put the chicken in a baking dish and put the orange cut into 6-8 slices inside. Set aside some marinade to constantly pour over the chicken. Roast for 1 hour and a half (depending on the oven), and every 20 minutes, brush the chicken with the reserved marinade.

At the moment of serving, add a piece of chicken with a slice of orange.
