  • 8 slices of bread
  • 7 oz firm tofu
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 2 cups of mixed greens
  • 7 oz physalis
  • 1 onion, julienned
  • 24 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 grated garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup vegan mayonnaise

Cut the drained tofu into about 0.2-inch thick squares. Mix with 2 tablespoons of oil, soy sauce and garlic, and allow to set for at least 1 hour.

After that time, heat a pan over medium heat and sauté the tofu on both sides until brown.

Sauté the onion with the remaining olive oil in a pan over medium heat and after a few minutes add the physalis, season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir constantly until the onion is slightly brown. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Cut the bread into different-sized stars. Spread mayonnaise over the bread and put layers of tofu, physalis, mixed greens and tomatoes until forming a Christmas tree.
