  • 4 sheets phyllo dough
  • 3.5 oz butter
  • 1 lb strawberries
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • Glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Cut the strawberries into quarters and add the sugar, then leave them to rest.

First extend a phyllo dough over a board, smear the melted butter on it using a brush, then add another sheet on top, and so on until adding the 4 phyllo dough sheets. The dough should be 10 x 12 inches, if there is excess dough on one side, cut it.

Cut 2-cm strips from each side of the dough, leave 4 inches uncut in the middle, between each side.

To make the braid, first fold the top and bottom, and start braiding with 2 strips from one side, folding them to the center, brush them, then take two strips from the other side, also fold them to the center, and so on until the end of the dough.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden.

Once cold, prepare the glaze, mixing the powdered sugar with lemon juice. Pour the glaze with a spoon, making lines on the braid.
