  • 8 slices of bread
  • 7 oz firm tofu
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 2 cups of mixed greens
  • 7 oz physalis
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 24 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 grated garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup vegan mayonnaise


Cut the drained tofu into about 1/4-inch-thick squares. Mix with 2 tbsp oil, soy sauce, and garlic, and set aside for at least 1 hour.

After that time, heat a pan over medium heat and stir-fry the tofu on both sides until it is golden.

Stirfry the onion with the rest of the olive oil on a pan over medium heat and after a few minutes add the physalis, season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir constantly until the onion is slightly golden. Remove from the heat and put aside.

Cut the bread into different-sized stars. Spread mayonnaise over the bread and put layers of tofu, physalis, mixed greens, and tomatoes until forming a Christmas tree.
