Murtilla is a native fruit from the south of Chile that grows mainly in the wild in coastal forests and mountains from the 7th to the 10th region of the country, with an extremely high content of antioxidants, sucrose, and fructose.

When the Spanish conquerors arrived in Chile in the 16th century, murtilla was already used by the Mapuche people for culinary and medicinal purposes, and its name comes from the word “murta”, which means bush.

It grows in coastal forests and mountains from regions VII to the X.

Its leaves are usually used as an anti-inflammatory and cicatrizant, and its uses range from food to cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
